What’s your favorite cookie?

The word “COOKIE” brings a smile to your face.  How can it not?  Nothing can be more comforting than a warm cookie and glass of cold milk; or a cup of tea and a Bourbon biscuit.  We make mixers and cookie/biscuit sandwiching machines for manufactures of sweets all around the world.  It’s fascinating to discover what cookies or biscuits (depending on where you are located) are popular in South Africa, China or Brazil.

chocolate-chip-cookies-blur_thumbIn the United Sates, nothing says America like chocolate chip cookies.  Peanut Butter and Sugar Cookies round out the top of the list for the US.  And don’t forget Girl Scout Cookies!  Japan_Yokan

In Japan, finished squares of Yokan (which look very much like our American chocolate fudge), are wrapped in cherry leaves and served as a sweet indulgence with a cup of tea.

In Spain they prefer Panellets which are a traditional dessert made with marzipan (almonds and sugar) usually covered in pine nuts.

The macaroon is a cookie fillmacaroonsed with a variety of fillings and flavors. Paris, France is the place to visit for  these!

Pepparkakor-4

Sweden loves their Pepparkakors.  Paper-thin and spicy, these cookies are a beloved Swedish Christmas tradition.

No matter where you are in the world, cookies and biscuits are an important part of our culture.  It could be Boortsog in China, Pryanik in Russia or Stroopwaffels in Belgium, nothing is more delicious!

We all have our favorites———–What’s yours?

Peters 4-3 Sandwich Machine

Image

Peters 4-3 Sandwich Machine

This brand new machine is on its way to China to produce a sandwich cookie that is three crackers with two sets of cream filling in each one!! HOW COOL! That means base cracker, cream filling, middle cracker, cream filling, top cracker!

The “4-3” part means that there are 4 rows of cookies in production and that each cookie is “3 high”.   Peters machines range in size from one row of cookies produced to as many a 6!!! rows being produced at a time!  Now that’s a lot of cookies.

Visit us at www.thepeerlessgroup.us to learn more about these machines.

Peters SD2 – A Versatile Machine

SD2 Closed

The Peters SD2 (side diverter, 2 rows) is a very cool machine.  This machine assembles sandwich cookies – just like a PT machine does –  but the final section of the machine offers two distinct exit options for the cookies.   The operator can choose to have the lanes merge together at the end, to create vend packs, or the operator can direct the machine to divert the finished cookies to the Overhead Transfer portion of the machine (behind the machine) so that the cookies can be stacked and routed to a tray packaging system.

Since we manufacture everything “to order” we only make Peters SDs on occasion – so I took a lot of photos of this one through the whole manufacturing process.  Below is a photo of the diverter section open – it’s a work of art!

SD2 Open

Soon, we will crate this machine up, with its hopper and the vibratory conveyors that we made for the order and ship it off to its new owner in Guatemala.

New Video of Peters MT4 Sandwiching Machine

Take a look at one of our new works of “engineering art” here at Peerless.  Click Here to see a video of a Peters MT4 Sandwiching machine.    This video is of a 4 lane sandwiching machine that will load finished cookies into a 12 lane multiplier, which in this case, will then feed into a cooling tunnel.

This machine is headed off to Brazil with its’ “big brother” – a 6 lane machine!!  Each lane on these machines can produce up to 800 sandwich cookies each minute!   That is a lot of sandwich cookies.

Peter Row Multiplier

The photo to the left shows an example of a 2 lane machine feeding into a 6 lane multiplier – the video link above features a machine that  is DOUBLE that capacity!

What Does Patent #2,993,453 Have to do with Peerless?

The patent referenced above, issued on July 25, 1961 is for Sandwiching Machines – is still the basic concept behind the Peters Sandwiching machines that we build today. Cream Cookie  Peerless has continued to refine and enhance the machine that Frank Peters’ company brought to fruition so many years ago.

This year, a new patent application was published that will document a stencil assembly that is more readily  adaptable to accommodate multiple row production.  This latest published application is the work of one of our engineers at The Peerless Group – and we couldn’t be more proud.

Peters Sandwiching machines are used all over the world.  From China, to Brazil, from Chicago, IL to India.  From El Salvador to Trinidad.   Peters equipment is respected worldwide.  As we continually work to gain more knowledge of the futuree – I ask everyone “What do YOU envision as the next “big thing” in Sandwich Cookies?”  Leave your ideas in the comments.

Would you like a cookie to go with your mixer?

Base Cakes

Base Cakes Going for Cream

Peerless does more than build mixers – we also build the machines that create sandwich cookies…(THAT’S why this job is so cool….)   This is a photo from one of the tests that we do on machines before they leave the factory… we actually run cookies.  🙂

This photo shows a line of base cakes going for cream – then they will get their top cake and be ready to package!
